Gabe's updates -- the trainees are amazing!
Hi All,
Here are the top happenings in Medicine Forward this week.
Trainee Leaders--
We couldn't be more proud of our trainee leaders this week. They gave a polished and well received presentation to Dr. Katherine Chretien, Dean of Student Affairs and wellbeing at Johns Hopkins. Dr. Chretien was impressed, and would like to collaborate & help the students further develop the medical student wellbeing scorecard. She understands the need, and everyone felt it would be a win-win to work together on this effort. This was an amazing outcome from the meeting. There is also some potential for funding of the project through the All In Wellbeing initiative to help make this a reality. Great job Scott, Kriti, Carly, Sam, Jordyn, & Nikhil -- you are rockstars!
Prior Auth + ACP partnership--
Next week is our first meeting collaboratively with ACP as we dive further into the prior auth project. ACP's Chief Strategy Officer, Adrienne White-Faines will join us as we discuss next steps. We will work on a date for a Town Hall to convene stakeholders and to ignite the initiative. We are continuing to get clarity on the value aligned and winnable goal we will go for first. We are also recruiting other partners who are passionate about this including patient advocates. Twitter hashtags we've been tinkering with are #ReformPriorAuth and #RestoreTheBond.
All-in wellbeing--
This group continues to inspire me greatly. I am participating in the work group that's creating the "Resilience Library". We've also recruited our friends Dave Logan, Ashleigh Rodriguez, and Colin West to help review applications for the All In fund that aims to invest in projects to create transformational change. MN steering / book club--
The planning phase of our first initiative of the Mighty Network steering committee is complete, and we will have our first official event next Mon. It's an incredible group and we're excited to get started. The first session will be an introduction, expectation setting, and getting to know one another. The following session we will jump in with the "15 Commitments of Conscious Leadership" book club led by Omar Shaker. We are also looking forward to this as part of our learning on how we can make being a part of the Mighty Network a more valuable experience. Thank you to everyone involved for helping co-create what I see as a great way for us to build deeper connections with one another.
Quarterly meeting--
It's that time again. We have committed to get our leaders together once a quarter to review how Medicine Forward is doing as an organization to fulfill the reason it was created. Our meeting is scheduled for next Tues the 16th of November. We have much to celebrate since our last one. If you have important things you want us to consider, please let me know. This is a great time to suggest improvements to our website, Mighty Network, communications, general approach & strategy, or anything that comes to mind to make this effort more effective.
We're in a great spot!
All my best,
Gabe
