Gabe's updates
Hi All,
As we approach the end of 2021 I want to start by sharing my deep gratitude for everyone involved in this project. We could not be here without you.
I'd like to begin by thanking our members. It's your care for patients and the future of this profession that gets me out of bed each day to keep fighting. I am also honored to thank our incredible allies including, 1) the American Medical Women's Association, 2) the Dr. Lorna Breen Heroes' Foundation, and 3) most recently our new and exciting partnership with the American College of Physicians (ACP). I can feel powerful momentum building as more and more of us come together for the needs of the suffering patient-physician relationship. And, I can't write about gratitude without sharing how much I appreciate our team of leaders. You have volunteered so much of your precious time and passion to bring this organization to life for the greater good.
As I said in my last update, it's imperative that we find an effective way to create real structural change in our healthcare system. We've heard loud and clear that we must restore agency to physicians to stand up for the interests of our patients. And, that is exactly what Medicine Forward is here to do. We will not give up on this.
2021 has been another wild ride. As it winds down, I'm taking time to reflect on where we are, where we've been, and where we can go together. I am energized for the year ahead knowing that we've got some great projects in the pipeline to have impact. This includes, 1) the prior auth project with ACP, 2) the student wellbeing scorecard, 3) the ALL IN wellbeing project, and 4) the Mighty Network steering committee & book club. We will keep working hard to make sure these stay aligned with our mission, and are guided every step of the way by our common core values.
I want to close this message and this year by sharing the hope that I have knowing each of you is out there. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
Happy Holidays & all my best! 😀
-Gabe
