Strengthening Physician-Patient Relationships and Moving Medicine Forward
October 2024
Dear Medicine Forward Community,
Our community is energized and growing as we take steps every day, across the country, to strengthen the Patient-Physician relationship and move Medicine Forward! Please join in these upcoming events.
Oct 7: Community Meeting Featuring Kern National Network for Flourishing in Medicine (KNN)
On October 7 at 6pm PT / 9pm ET, MF is hosting a special community gathering with Jeff Fritz, PhD, Associate Director for learning and partnership development for the Kern National Network for Flourishing in Medicine (KNN). KNN collaborates with medical schools and others in the health ecosystem to create the conditions for flourishing within the profession of medicine. Jeff will share information about the KNN framework including some of their results and will talk with us about how their work is impacting the practice environment and what we believe a flourishing patient/physician relationship looks and feels like. Click here to join.
Oct 24: Catalyst Conversation
Join us at 3pm PT / 6pm ET on October 24 as MF launches our first official Catalyst Conversation! We are excited to jumpstart this new series, designed to foster meaningful dialogue between patients and physicians about the mutual challenges and grievances within the healthcare system.
Each 90-minute session will utilize a unique framework that encourages open dialogue, reflection, and collaboration, allowing both voices to be heard.
In our inaugural conversation, we will delve into the critical question: How can we ensure that both the patient and physician mutually value each other’s time during a typical office or clinic visit?
Please register here through Eventbrite.
Nov 20: Rediscover the Heart of Healthcare
Today’s healthcare landscape is filled with complex challenges that often overshadow the profound human connections at the core of medicine.

Mark Your Calendars: Dec 16 Post-Symposium Event
Following the impactful NYC Burnout Symposium, we invite you to continue the conversation at our post-symposium event on December 16, 2024. This virtual gathering will continue the focus on restoring and nurturing human connection in healthcare—a crucial need in today’s complex and often disconnected system.
Led by Medicine Forward, Kern National Network, and the Healthcare Reinvention Collaborative, this event will use interactive breakout sessions to explore actionable solutions to improve human connection in healthcare.
